Our Vice-president prof. dr. Siniša Zrinščak as a Vice-president in Research Committee 22 on Sociology of Religion organizes a session within the topic:
RELIGIOUS ACTORS AND PUBLIC DEBATES
Croatian Sociological Association is co-organizer of the symposium “Sacred and Secular. The Life and Work of Željko Mardešić”.
Other organizers of this symposium are: Kršćanska sadašnjost, Kršćanski akademski krug, Center for Promotion of Social Teaching of the Church and Catholic Theological Faculty of Zagreb.
Intention of this interdisciplinary symposium is to put light on aspects of sociology, theology and study of religion in the work of Željko Mardešić.
Symposium will be held on the November 27, 2007, with the beginning at 9am in the Ulica Grada Vukovara 271, Zagreb.

Croatian sociological association applied in April this year on ISA’s Application for funding. On Tuesday, 29 May 2007 at Department of Sociology, University of Zadar, Kruno Kardov (Department of Sociology, Faculty of Philosophy, Zagreb) held a lecture titled “Is the past gone? Societal dimensions of war in Croatian society”.
The lecture was based on 2006 survey about attitudes of Croatian citizens on war victims, questions of responsibility for the war atrocities and legal prosecution of war crimes.
