Public lecture by Petra Rodik
On Friday, January 11, 2013 Croatian Sociological Association – Zadar Branch and Department of Sociology, University of Zadar have organized a public lecture given by Petra Rodik, PhD, from the Department of Sociology, Faculty of Humanities and Social Siences, Zagreb „Households in Debt Crisis: Case of Loans Issued in Swiss Francs in Croatia“.
The lecture is based on a research conducted in early 2012 on people who have loans in Swiss Francs in Croatia.
Enrolment has opened for the International Joint Degree Masters programme in Cultural Sociology which is being organised by the universities of Graz, Zadar, Trento and Brno.
Enrolment for the academic year 2012/2013 will be open until July 15, 2012.
The annual conference of the Croatian Sociological Association was organised at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb, on 1 – 2 June 2012.
Public Lecture by Professor Alistair Ross
On Tuesday, October 16, 2012, Croatian Sociological Association – Zadar Branch and Department of Sociology, University of Zadar have organized a public lecture given by Professor Alistair Ross „Young peoples’ constructions of equity and cooperation”.
Based on a comparative research conducted in United Kingdom, Poland, Spain and Turkey the lecturer spoke of pattersn of cooperation and solidarity among young people.
Professor Alistair Ross is Emeritus Professor at London Metropolitan University.

Public lecture by Barbara Cochran
On Monday, 23. 5. 2011. Croatian Sociological Association – Zadar Branch and Department of Sociology, University of Zadar have organized a public lecture given by Barbara Cochran „Women’s Role In Media: Building Toward An Equitable Future“. The lecture discussion was accompanied by John Cochran, journalist and editor of several USA TV networks on international relations topics.
Barbara Cochran, a news executive whose career includes top jobs in the broadcast, print and non-profit worlds, is the Curtis B. Hurley Chair in Public Affairs Journalism at the Missouri School of Journalism. Cochran is based in the School’s bureau in Washington, D.C., where she has spent her entire career. She works with the School’s faculty to teach and provide course content for students. Cochran is co-chair of the International Women’s Media Foundation.
On Wednesday, April 27, 2011. Joint Doctorate in Sociology of Regional and Local Development was launched by Department of Sociology, University of Zadar and University of Teramo, Italy.
Public lecture by Dr Tania Lewis
On Monday, September 13, 2010, Croatian Sociological Association -Zadar Branch and Department of Sociology, University of Zadar have organized apublic lecture given by Dr Tania Lewis jeziku „Moral makeovers: lifestyle tv,popular pedagogy and the good citizen”. The lecture dealt with a number oftheoretical models and contextual frames for understanding the recent emergenceof „lifestyle television” phenomenon, and examines various examples of ordinaryexpertise in action.
Public talk
On Monday, April 12, 2010, Croatian Sociological Association – Zadar Branch and Department of Sociology, University of Zadar have organized a public talk on school leaving examination in sociology. The speakers were: prof. dr. sc. Inga Tomić-Koludrović, head of Croatian Sociological Association, Jana Šarinić, highschool teachers’ represenataive in the CSA, prof. dr. sc. Ognjen Čaldarović, from the Department of Sociology, Faculty of Philosophy Zagreb and Gordana Longin Batković, sociology high school teacher in grammar school „Vladimir Nazor”, Zadar.
Public lecture by prof. dr. sc. Vjeran Katunarić
On Friday, January 29, 2010, Croatian Sociological Association – Zadar Branch and Department of Sociology, University of Zadar have organized a public lecture given prof. dr. sc. Vjeran Katunarić „Social problems and civic education: the role of sociology“. The lecture dealt with some tenets of classical and contemporary sociology are examined with reference to social problems that are also topical in civic education.
