UPSET (Association for Prevention of Stigmatisation and Education through Theatre) is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation, founded in 2008 by a group of young professionals (sociologists, psychologists, cultural and social workers) interested in making positive social changes through (non-)formal education, arts and research. Since then, UPSET has grown to 51 members who apply their educational background and expertise in non-formal and formal education, arts, crafts, social and digital skills, and volunteer to make our community better and more inclusive.
Our mission is prevention of any form of stigmatisation through education, promotion of humanity, tolerance and acceptance of the stigmatised individuals, groups and associations, contribution to, and influence, on the quality of expression of adult learners in the fields of science, art and culture, creation of spaces of free expression, critique and interaction between the stigmatised individuals and the rest of the society. Our activities are focused on stigmatised groups (primarily people with disabilities), adult, and young learners, and they include small and large scale non-formal education, arts and culture events (workshops, festivals, performances), research, promotion, dissemination, advocacy and support of topics beneficial for destigmatisation and development of social inclusion. In our work, we specialise in using a polyvalent Drama-Action model that was developed within UPSET and provides scientifically proven method for making social change, research and inclusive education.

Crafting the Inclusion – Expander: Crafts and Practices in non-formal education for increasing social inclusion (CRAFT:IN)
CRAFT:IN focuses on exchange of various (hand)crafts that will develop human resources within partner organisations, develop key competences of their staff, start new non-formal educational activities and entrepreneurship initiatives, and promote social inclusion of marginalised groups. (Hand)crafts can be just about anything that produces tangible outputs/products that are useful for inclusive work (e.g. they enable persons with disabilities to engane in that activity, they improve their motoric skills etc.)

EDUCAtional THEatre as a place of raising inclusion and employability of marginalised groups and people with disabilities (EDUCATHE)
EDUCATHE focuses on exchange of educational theatre (ET) practices in working with/for people with disabilities (PWD) and other marginalised groups. Educational theatre is a method that allows us to address social “taboo” topics and explore inclusion on the intersection of non-formal education, research, and performative arts. Each workshop will end with a public performance, and each partner will produce their own educational materials (eVideo and eManual) about their workshop/method of work.

Theatre of Ideas: Pitching for employment (THE PITCH)
THE PITCH focuses on development and popularisation of pitching in raising employability of marginalised groups and improving educators’ skills through non-formal education activities. Pitching is presentation method which helps marginalised groups (unemployed youth, people with disabilities etc.) to learn how to learn and develop efficient, existing, and inclusive project ideas (their projects will be focused on solving one of the problems of a marginalised group in partner’s local community) – at the same time inspiring and empowering them through the experience of presenting their project ideas to the public (livestream programme).
