The Croatian edition of the book was published by Alinea publishing house in 2006.

International Sociological Association approved financial support to Croatian Sociological Association for the development of web site and organization of regional workshop. On Tuesday, 29 May 2007 at Department of Sociology, University of Zadar, Kruno Kardov (Department of Sociology, Faculty of Philosophy, Zagreb) held a lecture titled “Is the past gone? Societal dimensions of war in Croatian society”.

The lecture was based on 2006 survey about attitudes of Croatian citizens on war victims, questions of responsibility for the war atrocities and legal prosecution of war crimes.

Croatian Sociological Association, University of Zagreb, Faculty of Law and Friedrich Ebert Stiftung – Zagreb are organizing lecture by Janine R. Wedel (School of Public Policy, George Mason University, USA) titled

SHADOW ELITE: THE PRIVATIZATION OF POWER

The lecture will take place in Zagreb, Monday 4 June 2007, 14.30 – 16.00, Main Hall, Faculty of Law, Trg maršala Tita 14/II.

Sociology students’ club Antifjaka, in collaboration with the Department for Sociology, University of Zadar, has organized series of lectures under a title “Sexuality week” from 7 till 11 May 2007.

The following lectures have been held:

• Željka Jelavić: Sexuality and body
• Tena Radočaj and Ivana Ćuk: Trafficking
• Sanja Djurin and Renata Jambrešić Kirin: Nation and politics of sexuality (separate lectures)
• Anna Maria Gruenfelder: Position of Catholic church on sexuality
